I mentioned in my last post that I have 3 siblings. They are, by far, the coolest and dorkiest people I know. So let me introduce you to the Children of Ed and Gwen Corn....
As most families do, since their unity was established in 1967..... The young couple, Eddi and Gwendolyn soon became "Mom" and "Dad" to 4 kiddos. As of May 5th this year, our family of 6 has grown into a family of 16, now calling them "GiGi" and "Opa".

To dig a little deeper into each personality, let's start with the prized first child, Clayton Corn.

(Clay and Christi holding Amber, my cousin with my mom's mother, "Granny" Louise)
When asked what some of his nicknames are, Clay will proudly and so eloquently reply......
"Clanus and His Clayness
If I’m being a really needy princess one day I might catch:
Her Royal Clayness
If I’m really pissed I’d be encouraged by my entourage to give them the old:
Claymaker
And if it ever did come to fisticuffs I would be known as:
Gasseous Clay (I 'fart like a butterfly, stink like a bee'?)
As you might have gathered I can be a real pain in-the-ass know-it-all.
On such occasions I might be called:
Cliff Clayven or Claynman
I suffer from acute:
ClayDD
If things just aren’t going my way at work I have been known to
fly off the handle and offer:
The Corn Ultimatum
When we’re out on a big tour the famished band might
approach me to ask:
Which way to Claytering?
To which I respond, ‘Oh sure, follow me’, at which point
I become the great explorer:
Claybeza De Vaca
On the golf course I am to be known as:
Clayger Woods
And now the pies de resistance…as we took batting practice at Fenway Park
last year I swung with every
last ounce of effort I could dredge up from the depths of my decidedly
fallible will and sizeable gut,
connected with the hurtling orb right at the bat’s sweet spot and
watched the ball fly exactly 12 feet over
second base and come to rest in the moist lushness of shallow center
field, at which point I was
congratulated by my awestruck peers as:
Josclay Cornseco
Score: Brendon 4,567,231 - Rest of the World: 7"
Clay plays keys for Pat Green and has for the last 6 1/2 years.

(Pat Green Band, Red Rock, CO. 2008)
I truly think Pat only keeps him around, not for his talent, but so he'll have a golf buddy :)
Clay happily wed Mellissa Corn on May 5th this year and they are expecting the first of their own Crop of Corn!

Clay has also played for Lee Greenwood, Andy Griggs, Brady Seals and Phil Vassar and produced some of
Texas Music's rising stars, including myself!

(The Trainwrecks, my band, at Fort Worth Sound recording "Big T-Shirt" EP)
He has been my biggest supporter, my toughest critic and has never left my side. For that, we are living proof that blood truly IS thicker than water. I want to simultaneously punch him and hug him all in the same breath. You can find out more about Clay at http://www.claytoncorn.com/about/
and frankly, I'm sick of talking about him!
Now, on to my amazing sister, Christi Corn Walls!

She truly is the most amazing woman I know! She is the loving wife to my awesome brother-in-law, Bobby Walls, and mother to their 4 children!

(Family photo at Clay's Wedding. Bobby and Christi with Brylie (10), Landry (8), Payslie (4) and Hadlie (5 months))
She teaches school for Midland ISD and was even named Teacher of the Year in 2008! She is also currently working on acquiring a patent for a writing program called Super Star Writing.
Without her, I would have never made it through some of the toughest times in my life. She is the rock for the whole family and the glue that holds us together.
Gotta end here with a BANG and Clint Corn!

(Clint sporting our grandfather Corporal Clarence Wendol Christian's helmet from World War II)
Clint puts the Party in Punch, the Froth in German Beer and the Gormet Cheese with any fine Wine. When I asked Clay, "What exacly does Clint do again?" Clay just replied, "makes money." Enough said!

(Clint at the New York Stock Exchange)
This last April, Clint went to the NYSE to watch the IPO of Ares Capital Management, where he is a vice president and was instrumental in taking them public.
He is also the loving husband to his high school sweetheart, Stacy Zarikta Corn, and they just welcomed their 3rd child this February. Yep! Another Corn!

(Proud parents of Kinsley (11), Anders (6) and Jonas (1 month))
I love being "Aunt Charla" more than anything in the world! Yes, even more than singing and performing. Without them, it doesn't mean a thing!
They are my heart!

(Being showered with love by Kinsley, Brylie, Anders, Payslie and Hadlie)
My siblings and their children have shaped who I am and I hope you enjoyed letting me brag about them!
More to come! Keep checking back and please comment!
Much love,
Charla
